The recognition acknowledges the Foundation’s commitment to advancing early childhood development through community engagement, capacity building, and child-centered programs that improve the wellbeing and development of young children.

  • A new home for a hardworking father and his children

A new home for a hardworking father and his children

Simon Habana lost his wife in 2015 and since then has been doing his best to give his two children a normal life. But times have been tough and though he works day in and day out, his earnings of $1/ day have meant that his children have had to forego schooling in order to find work where they can to help support the household. Recently, Yooo! Visited with local leaders in Nyamirama to see how we could help out this family. Within 2 weeks, Yooo! Was able to secure the building materials and hire three builders to fix the roof and walls of their small home as well as build an outhouse. Yooo! Plans to continue to support this family and ensure that Jeanine and Mugisha are able to get to school with new uniforms and that Simon can breathe a sigh of relief and focus on finding more work. With a roof over their heads, Simon and his children can sleep more comfortably and Yooo! will be there for them! Thank you to our generous donors for bringing this family some much needed joy.

Supporting Early Childhood Development in Rwinkwavu

Yooo! is proud to partner with Ms. Kayetesi Marie Providence to support an Early Childhood Development (ECD) program in Rwinkwavu. After meeting Ms. Providence in 2024 and witnessing her remarkable commitment to serving vulnerable families in the village of Nyarwashama, we knew we wanted to help expand the impact of her work.

On Christmas Day, our Rwanda leadership team—Country Director Iradukunda Shema Placide, Yassin Sibomana, and JMV Uwitonze—visited the ECD program to celebrate with the 30 children enrolled. Thanks to the generosity of our donors, they delivered nutritious food, gifts, and a day filled with joy and celebration, making the holiday truly memorable for the children and their families.

This partnership represents an exciting step forward in Yooo!’s commitment to early childhood development. Together, we are working to give young children the strongest possible start by providing nutritious meals, educational books and learning materials, and opportunities to develop the skills they need to thrive as they enter primary school.

We are incredibly proud of our team in Rwanda and their unwavering dedication to strengthening their communities and creating opportunities for the next generation. With your continued support, we can expand this program, reach more children, and help ensure that every child has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed.

  • Food and Clothes for Rwanda’s future

Food and Clothes for Rwanda’s future

Early childhood development remains one of the most important challenges affecting the health and future of Rwanda’s youngest generation. According to the National Child Development Agency (NCDA) and research conducted in partnership with USAID, approximately 33% of Rwandan children experience stunting, limiting their physical growth and cognitive development and reducing their ability to reach their full potential.

At Yooo!, we are committed to helping change this reality. We are incredibly proud of our dedicated team in Rwanda and their ongoing efforts to ensure that every donation creates meaningful impact. Recently, our Country Director, Iradukunda Shema Placide, joined local officials in Kayonza District to support an Early Childhood Development Center by donating clothing and nutritious food for young children and their families.

These initiatives are an important step toward improving child nutrition, supporting healthy physical and cognitive development, and giving children the strongest possible start in life. With your continued support, we hope to expand these programs and reach even more communities across Rwanda.

Together, we can help ensure that every child has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive. Thank you for partnering with us to build a healthier, brighter future for Rwanda’s children.

    Meet Justin Nshimiyimana

We first met Justin Nshimiyimana in Kigali in December 2022 while he was studying tourism at the Rwanda Tourism Institute. From the moment we met him, Justin stood out as an exceptional young man with a kind heart, remarkable determination, and an unwavering passion for learning.

Justin lost his mother during the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi and was raised by relatives in Rwanda’s Musanze District, home to Volcanoes National Park. Growing up in this region fostered a deep appreciation for Rwanda’s history, culture, wildlife, and natural beauty, inspiring him to pursue a career in tourism.

During our visit to Rwanda, Justin served as our guide, creating unforgettable experiences through his extensive knowledge, professionalism, and genuine care for every guest. As we got to know him better, we also learned about the sacrifices he made to pursue his education—often working tirelessly and even skipping meals to afford textbooks and school fees.

Inspired by Justin’s perseverance and character, Yooo! Rwanda Foundation was honored to fully fund his remaining school fees, helping him complete his education and continue building the future he envisioned.

Today, Justin’s tourism company, Real Life Safaris, continues to grow, offering exceptional travel experiences throughout Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished. Beyond building a successful business, Justin is committed to giving back by mentoring and employing interns, creating opportunities for the next generation of tourism professionals.

Justin’s journey is a powerful example of resilience, determination, and the impact that community support can have. We extend our sincere gratitude to everyone whose generosity helped make his dreams a reality.

  • Over 900 Insured!

    Over 900 Insured!

At Yooo!, we are committed to making healthcare more accessible for people living in rural Rwanda. Thanks to the generous donations we received last year, we were able to personally deliver more than 900 healthcare vouchers to vulnerable individuals and families in the communities of Rwinkwavu, Nyamirama, and Kabarondo.

Working closely with our team in Rwanda and local leaders in Kayonza District, we identified those most in need, including single mothers, elderly residents, and other at-risk individuals and families. These vouchers help ensure that those facing financial hardship can access essential healthcare services when they need them most.

We are grateful for the generosity of our supporters, whose contributions made this initiative possible. With your continued support, we look forward to expanding this program and helping even more families receive the care they deserve.
