About Me:
Co-Founder and Director
Shema has devoted his career to serving the people of Rwanda through journalism, humanitarian work, youth leadership, and community development. He earned a degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Bugema University in Uganda before beginning his career as a journalist with Vision Group, where he developed a strong commitment to informing and empowering communities.
Driven by a passion for public service, Shema later joined the Rwanda Red Cross, where he worked as a First Aid Trainer, equipping individuals with lifesaving skills and promoting community resilience. He also served as Secretary of the Youth Committee for the East African Community Office, contributing to regional youth engagement and leadership initiatives.
Since 2020, Shema has served as Program Manager for Organisation Enfants-Mères, where he leads and supports a range of community development initiatives focused on improving the lives of vulnerable children and families.
As Co-Founder and Director of the Yooo! Rwanda Foundation, Shema brings invaluable leadership, deep local knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to service. His integrity, experience, and passion for empowering communities are instrumental to the foundation’s mission, and we are honored to have him as a leader and partner.
